Making sure the lemon cypress houseplant receives enough light is arguably the most challenging aspect of its upkeep. Choose a window that lets in plenty of light, and rotate the container frequently so that each side gets a chance. The indoor plant needs six to eight hours of direct sunlight.

Water: needs to be watered frequently, particularly in the early years of growth. To avoid root rot, make sure the soil is well-drained. Once established, it can withstand some drought, although even in dry conditions, it will benefit from sporadic thorough soaking.
