Royal poinciana, Delonix regia is a species of flowering plant in the bean family Fabaceae. It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of orange-red flowers over summer. In English it is given the name royal poinciana, flamboyant, flame of the forest, or flame tree. Also called Peacock Flower, Gulmohar is a Semi-evergreen tree.
Delonix Regia also known as Royal Poinciana, Flame Tree,Flamboyant Tree, Gulmohar ,Peacock Flower is Semi-evergreen tree (completely caducous in areas with a long and dry season). It has a broad dome shape and mostly ovate, 2-pinnate, shiny green leaves, 30-50 cm long, split into ten-25 pairs of elliptical to an oblong every leaflet. From Spring to Summer, the regular petals are pale yellow and striped in red, with a diameter of 10 to 13 cm. Ranged 5-10 m in height to 10 m.
