Ficus elastica is an arboreal plant native to tropical wetlands, in its spontaneous state it is a tree more than 30 m tall, has large shiny dark green oval leaves sometimes streaked with yellow with a pronounced tip, the leaf shoots are covered with a pink or reddish protective bract. In pot it blooms with difficulty and reaches a height of 2.5 m with an upright and decisive shape. Ficus elastica is known as Caucci fig for the white latex used for the production of caoutchouc .
