Although ruellia flowers are highly adaptable and may do well in shade, expect fewer blooms due to the lack of sunlight. Growing ruellia plants will appreciate regular water but, again, the tolerant plant can withstand drought conditions in prepared soil.
Evergreen shrub Cultivated for its attractive foilage and flowers.The funnel-shape flowers are pale blue with purple veins and occur in densely packed terminal panicles. Fairly tolerant of drought conditions and like sun or semi-shade they do well at the feet of trees.
